The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has congratulated veteran comedian and actor Okey Bakassi on his coronation as the traditional ruler of Umuihuocha Autonomous Community in Mbaise, Imo State.
AGN National President, Chief Emeka Rollas, conveyed the guild’s message in a statement shared via Facebook, celebrating Bakassi’s ascension to the throne. “On behalf of the Board of Trustees, National Executive, Congress, and the entire members of Actors Guild of Nigeria, we congratulate one of our Board Trustees who was just crowned king,” Rollas wrote.
Prominent Nigerian entertainers, including Alibaba, Kcee, Yaw, Acapella, and Frank Edoho, also took to social media to felicitate with Bakassi.
Confirming the development, Bakassi wrote on his social media platform: “NEXT LEVEL……Service to Community.”
Bakassi, known for his decades-long career in comedy and acting, won the Best Actor in a Leading Role at the 2014 Best of Nollywood Awards for his performance in Onye Ozi.
