Social media activist, VeryDarkMan, has called on the Rivers State Government to urgently fix the road leading to Ogobogolo community in Ahoada West Local Government Area.
In a post on social media, the activist said his recent visit to the community—believed to be the hometown of Nigerian music star Burna Boy—revealed the absence of a functional road linking the village and surrounding communities.
According to him, the journey to the community was extremely difficult, stressing that there was virtually no road leading into the village.
VeryDarkMan disclosed that Burna Boy had expressed willingness to fund major development projects in the community, including healthcare, education and water facilities, estimated to cost over N300 million.
He, however, warned that investing such a huge amount in the area without a proper access road could undermine the project.
The activist noted that the poor road network could make it difficult for teachers and other professionals posted to the community to carry out their duties.
He also explained that due to the lack of road access, construction materials for the planned projects would have to be transported through waterways, which would increase the cost and time required for execution.
VeryDarkMan therefore urged the Rivers State Government to take responsibility and fix the road, insisting that road construction falls within the government’s mandate and budget.
Despite the challenges, he maintained that he and Burna Boy remained committed to improving the living conditions of the community’s residents.
