The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) has announced that 363 students will graduate with first-class honours during its 34th convocation ceremony scheduled for Saturday, July 27, 2025.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Georgewill Owunari, disclosed this during a press briefing ahead of the convocation. He stated that a total of 12,247 graduands will be awarded degrees, diplomas, and certificates across various faculties and disciplines.
According to Professor Owunari, the breakdown includes 7,747 bachelor’s degrees, 3,130 postgraduate diplomas and master’s degrees, and 1,370 doctorate degrees. He noted that this year’s convocation reflects the university’s commitment to academic excellence and innovation.
The event will also feature the conferment of honorary degrees on notable Nigerians in recognition of their contributions to national development and education.
