Students of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) on Monday held a candlelight procession in honour of Miss Zalmon Beatrice Ebirien, a Pre-degree and Certificate student who died in a fatal road accident along the Rumuokoro–Eliozu axis on July 28.
The emotional event, which took place on campus, drew dozens of grieving students who gathered to pay tribute through prayers, moments of silence, and shared memories of the deceased.
Zalmon Beatrice was among the victims of a tragic collision involving a commercial bus and a trailer, which claimed multiple lives.
Addressing the students, UNIPORT Vice-Chancellor, Professor Owunari Abraham Georgewill, expressed condolences to the bereaved and encouraged the university community to draw strength from one another during the difficult time.
