The University of Port Harcourt has resumed academic activities for the Second Semester of the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 academic session today, Monday, 19th May 2025. This comes after a three-week break which followed the conclusion of the First Semester examinations held from 17th March to 24th April 2025.
The resumption marks the beginning of a 13-week lecture period for full-time students across various faculties, departments, and academic programmes. According to the approved academic calendar, lectures commence immediately and are scheduled to end on Friday, 15th August 2025.
Students are advised to take note of key dates in the semester, including the deadline for the payment of second instalment charges on Friday, 20th June 2025, and the final date for registration for the second instalment on Friday, 27th June 2025. Submission of Continuous Assessment (CA) scores to the Academic Office is expected to be completed by Friday, 15th August 2025.
The University community is also reminded of the Students’ Union Week holding from Monday, 18th to Saturday, 23rd August 2025, featuring cultural activities and union elections. This will be followed by a revision week from Monday, 25th to Friday, 29th August 2025.
Second Semester Examinations will hold from Monday, 1st to Friday, 26th September 2025. The semester will officially close with a two-week long vacation for full-time students, beginning Monday, 29th September and ending Saturday, 11th October 2025.
