The University of Port Harcourt (Uniport) has recorded a significant academic milestone, achieving a 100% success rate in the October/November 2024 accreditation exercise conducted by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
According to a statement by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Owunari Georgewill, the University presented a total of 22 academic programmes for evaluation, out of which 21 secured full accreditation status while one received interim accreditation.
The Vice Chancellor commended the collective efforts of staff and stakeholders who participated in the rigorous accreditation process, describing the achievement as a testament to the University’s dedication, resilience, and commitment to quality education.
“We commended everyone involved in the NUC programs accreditation process late last year in the University of Port Harcourt for their dedication and commitment to the processes. The 100% achievement is a testament to the untiring efforts of all of us,” Professor Georgewill stated.
He further praised the unique spirit of Uniport, attributing the successful outcome to strategic planning, teamwork, and a shared vision of academic excellence.
This latest feat reinforces the University of Port Harcourt’s position as one of Nigeria’s leading institutions of higher learning, and signals its continued readiness to provide globally competitive education and research.
