The Federal Government of Nigeria has urged state governments to prepare for emergency flooding response. This is following recent flooding in some states of the federation.
The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq through her Special Assistant on Media, Mrs. Nneka Anibeze made this known in a statement in Abuja over the weekend.
“The recent floods in parts of those states affirm the need for serious and urgent actions to be taken to safeguard lives and property against the predicted floods. States must prepare for emergency flooding response,” part of the statement read.
