European football’s governing body UEFA, has announced that the away goals rule will be removed from all of its club competitions starting from next season.
UEFA, disclosed this in a statement after a meeting of the Club Competitions Committee.
It said the Executive Committee of UEFA, will now decide whether to scrap the away goals rule.
If it scales through, it simply means that the Champions League, Europa League and new Europa Conference League will no longer have aways goals.
