The Federal Road Safety Corps in Rivers State, FRSC, has confirmed that two persons lost their lives in a tragic turn of events at the Rumuola Flyover in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, after initially surviving a serious road accident.
Sector Commander, Umoh Inyang in a statement said, the incident occurred two nights ago when two vehicles collided heavily on the flyover.
Eyewitnesses say yhe force of the impact caused both cars to somersault, with one reportedly breaking through the protective barriers and plunging beneath the bridge.
All occupants in the two vehicles survived the initial crash despite the severity of the accident.
However, tragedy unfolded shortly after. Two occupants from the vehicle that remained on the roadside reportedly discovered that their mobile phones were still inside their overturned car, which was lying upside down.
As they attempted to retrieve their phones from the wreckage, a separate jeep allegedly speeding along the route rammed into them.
