Two senior officials of the Ahoada East Local Government Area wanted in connection with an alleged attack on the Sole Administrator of the council, Goodluck Iheanachor, have turned themselves in to the police.
The spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the development in a statement on Thursday. She identified the suspects as the Chief Security Officer of the council, Hector Ekakita, and the Chief of Staff, Aloni Olodi.
According to Iringe-Koko, the suspects voluntarily surrendered and were interviewed by the State Commissioner of Police before being handed over to the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
The police urged members of the public to cooperate with authorities to ensure justice is served and called on anyone with useful information regarding the case to come forward.
