Minister for Information, Lai Mohammad says those flouting the Federal Government’s Twitter Ban, including Pastor Enoch Adeboye would be prosecuted.
Mohammed, who said this in a statement on Monday, stated that the decision on whom to prosecute for using Twitter after the ban lies within the prerogative of the attorney-general.
He said despite Adeboye’s justification on using the platform citing Article 19 of the United Nation’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) he would be prosecuted.
Lai, noted that the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami would decide those to be prosecuted.
“The attorney-general has made it clear that if anyone violates the regulation, that such person will be prosecuted. I think it is the right of the attorney-general to decide who to prosecute,” he said.
