Reactions have trailed Governor Nyesom Wike’s reply to the congratulatory message sent to him by former Vice President and presidential flag-bearer of the PDP Atiku Abubakar in the 2019 elections.
Atiku Abubakar, yesterday took to his social media handle to congratulate Wike on his appointment as Edo State PDP campaign committee chairman for the governorship election slated for September.
Atiku in the message expressed satisfaction over the appointment, stating that he is sure the governor is capable of leading the party to victory in the state.
Wike after seeing the message replied with just “Thanks,” without saying anything more. According to one Twitter user, “it appears the governor wasn’t really impressed with the message so he simply told him “Thanks” in a non-patronizing way.”
According to reports, both politicians have not really been in good terms, following a fallout during the party’s last primaries to pick its flag bearer for the 2019 presidential election.
