Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has stated that the appeal filed by a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Kabiru Turaki will not disrupt the party’s planned national convention.
The Turaki-led group had, on Friday, approached the Supreme Court seeking an order to prevent the Wike-backed faction from proceeding with the convention scheduled for March 29 and 30.
Wike, however, maintained that the legal move would not affect preparations, expressing confidence that the convention would go ahead as planned while urging party members to remain focused and disregard distractions.
