The Defence Headquarters has disclosed that troops of Operation Delta Safe have deactivated 21 illegal refining sites and apprehended 23 suspected oil thieves in the Niger Delta within the past week.
The Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye, made this known on Friday during a media briefing in Abuja on the activities of the Armed Forces across various theatres of operation.
Kangye stated that the troops maintained a heightened operational tempo throughout the week under review, targeting crude oil theft and other forms of criminality in the region.
