Veteran journalist and former presidential aspirant, Dele Momodu, has responded strongly to disparaging remarks made by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, during a recent media chat.
Wike had mocked Momodu, describing him as a “boy” who contested the 2023 presidential election but couldn’t secure a single vote. In a swift rebuttal issued via a statement, Momodu dismissed the comments, suggesting they were the product of intoxication.
“I can confirm that too much alcohol can do two things: dull the memory and get people emaciated,” he stated.
Drawing comparisons on electoral performance, Momodu added: “There’s no difference between the man who wasted billions seeking power and lost, and the one who spent nothing and got nothing. They are both losers.”
Momodu went further, branding Wike “an uncouth and uncultured local champion called ‘money miss road,’” contrasting himself as “a decorous and refined global citizen surviving on contentment.”
He noted that previous efforts to assist Wike politically had failed, saying, “Some souls are irredeemable.”
In a pointed conclusion, Momodu warned: “No one has a monopoly of madness.”
