A Lagos State High Court has found media personality, Toke Makinwa guilty of defamatory comments against her ex-husband, Maje Ayida.
Ayida had instituted a defamatory suit against Toke, at the state High Court over comments she made against him in a book she recently released.
Hon. Justice Ogunjobi in his ruling yesterday 12th November 2020 found Toke, guilty of the charges and ordered her to pay the sum of 500,000 Naira each to be paid by the 1st and 2nd defendants to any charity organization of the claimant’s choice.
The judge also gave her 30 days to remove the said defamatory words from unsold copies of the book in her custody.
Ayida had through his lawyers few years ago warned Toke, to retract the statement she made in the book or face legal actions.
