President Bola Tinubu has introduced a free registration programme for candidates of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) in the Southeast, with 50,000 students set to benefit under his Renewed Hope Agenda.
The scheme provides support for 10,000 prospective candidates in each state of the region, with every beneficiary receiving ₦8,500 to cover the full cost of registration for the 2027 JAMB examination.
The initiative was launched in Enugu by Belusochukwu Enwerem, National Coordinator of the Southeast Renewed Hope Agenda, who said the programme underscores the administration’s commitment to improving access to education and empowering young people.
According to him, education remains a critical driver of sustainable development, describing the intervention as a strategic investment in the region’s future workforce and leadership across key professions.
