President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved automatic federal civil service appointments and ₦250,000 cash rewards for 200 exceptional National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members who served between 2020 and 2023.

The announcement was made on Monday during the NYSC Presidential Honours Award Ceremony in Abuja. Representing the president, Minister of State for Labour and Employment Nkeiruka Onyejeocha also revealed that 10 physically challenged former corps members who sustained injuries during their service year would receive automatic employment.

Additionally, all 210 honorees will be awarded postgraduate scholarships to study at any Nigerian university.

Tinubu praised the recipients for their commitment to national service, stating, “Your patriotism and integrity have earned you this national recognition. You are the future of Nigeria.”

Among those honoured were Nunaya Polycarp (Adamawa, served in Kwara), Okpogbo Alvin Chinedu (Imo, served in Cross River), Dr. Ugwa Obinna Mark (Abia, served in Cross River), Rabiu Quadri Mayokun (Osun, served in Rivers), Akase Pati Ence Nguwasen (Benue, served in Gombe), and Igwe Anne Chikaodi (Enugu, served in Sokoto).

A full list of beneficiaries was published by the NYSC and made available to the public.
