President Bola Ahmed Tinubu departed Abuja on Saturday for an official visit to Saint Lucia and Brazil, aimed at boosting diplomatic, economic, and cultural relations with countries in the Global South.
The visit was announced in a statement released Friday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
According to the statement, Tinubu’s trip is expected to open new avenues for cooperation in infrastructure development, education, youth empowerment, and diplomacy.
The President’s first stop is the Caribbean nation of Saint Lucia, where he is on a state visit. While there, he is scheduled to meet with top government officials, including Governor-General Cyril Errol Melchiades Charles and Prime Minister Philip Pierre.
A major highlight of the visit will be President Tinubu’s address to a special joint session of Saint Lucia’s Senate and House of Assembly.
