President Bola Tinubu on Saturday commissioned the first phase of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway in Lagos, reaffirming his administration’s focus on local content, technology transfer, and infrastructure excellence.
Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President (Information & Strategy) in a statement said, Tinubu warned estate developers and contractors to adhere to building regulations, insisting the federal government will not compensate those who ignore legal setbacks or fail to obtain proper approvals.
He said the President praised Hitech Construction for using advanced concrete pavement technology and recognized engineer Ronald Chagoury for efforts in halting Atlantic Ocean encroachment in Lagos.
Tinubu also flagged off and commissioned over 20 major roads and bridge projects across all six geopolitical zones, including the Enugu-Port Harcourt Road, Shendam Bridge in Plateau, and Jimeta Bridge in Adamawa.
With calls for public patience, Tinubu assured Nigerians the economy is stabilizing, highlighting improvements in forex rates and food prices.
Present at the ceremony were governors, ministers, top business leaders, and Nobel Laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka.
