President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the recruitment of 30,000 new police officers as part of efforts to strengthen national security.
The approval was given during a meeting with security chiefs in Abuja on Sunday.
During the meeting, the President also directed the immediate withdrawal of all police officers attached to Very Important Persons (VIPs), stressing that personnel must be redeployed to critical security duties across the country.
Tinubu reaffirmed his commitment to securing the nation, stating that he would do everything possible to ensure the rescue of all abducted Nigerians.
