President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the immediate construction of two 300-capacity hostels for students of the Nigerian Law School, Abuja, as well as a major access road linking the Body of Benchers Secretariat in Jabi District with Nile University.
The approval, conveyed through the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, was announced in a statement on Tuesday by the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka.
According to the statement, the hostels will consist of one block for female students and another for male students, each accommodating 300 occupants. The initiative aims to address the accommodation challenges faced by law students in Abuja.
On the road project, Olayinka explained that the new link would not only provide easier access to the Body of Benchers Secretariat but also help decongest traffic around the area, particularly the route leading to the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
