The Rivers State Police Command says three victims of the gas explosion at Oroazi, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area have died in a hospital.
The Police in a statement said the victims died on Monday from injuries sustained in the explosion.
Meanwhile, the Rivers State Commissioner for Health, Adaeze Oreh, has disclosed that about 16 victims of the explosion are currently receiving treatment at the State University Teaching Hospital.
She also said plans are underway by the state government to sensitize service providers on how to operate.
Dr Oreh said this when she visited the site of the explosion on Monday.
