Three Police officers accused of extorting two hundred and forty thousand naira from one Kingsley Dike, a student of the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, has been arrested and detained on the orders of the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Eboka Friday.
The CP, ordered their arrest, after a Human Rights Group led the student to lodge a compliant at the Police Headquarters.
The 200L student in a chat with journalists, said the Police officers had few days ago illegally arrested him, and forced him to transfer the said amount to them.
He also alleged that he was tortured to accept that he is an internet fraudster, after the officers had searched his phone and found nothing while in their custody.
He commended the CP for intervening in the matter, and urged him to ensure justice is served in the matter.
We gathered that the Police officers are currently at the State Criminal Investigation Department, and that the money has been recovered from them.
