The Rivers State Taskforce on Street Trading and Illegal Motor Park, says some persons have been arrested in connection with the fracas between street traders and some taskforce officials, at Nkpogu Road, yesterday.
Chairman of the Taskforce, Felix Nwadiabiye stated this in a chat with news correspondents in Port Harcourt, today.
He said officials of the Taskforce were attacked while carrying out their legitimate duties, leaving one of them seriously injured.
Nwadiabiye noted that those arrested will be charged to court, and anyone found wanting will be dealt with in accordance with the laws of the land.
Some officials of the Taskforce and street traders clashed at Nkpogu road, yesterday, while they were demolishing illegal structures in the area.
