A group known as Shaggy Solidarity Movement, has denied reports making the rounds that there was an attempt to kidnap Nigerian Singer, Teni during an event in Buguma, Rivers State on Sunday.
The report also claimed that bottles were thrown at her while performing on stage by some irate youths.
But, the group in a statement described the report as false and malicious, adding that no such thing happened.
It said bottles were not thrown at the singer, but the opposite direction at the back stage.
The statement also disclosed that the gunshots heard, were not from civilians but security operatives to pave way for the singer to leave the town.
“There was no physical combat before the bottles were thrown at opposite directions at the back stage. Bottles were not thrown at TENI while she was performing on stage. The gun shots was not shot by civilians as speculated by some misinformed persons,” part of the statement read.
