Former Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, Hon. Ikanya Davies, who recently joined the People’s Democratic Party, says the Rivers APC is only favoring an individual and not party stakeholders, and its members.
Speaking at a reception to welcome him and other defectors to the PDP on Saturday, in Port Harcourt, Ikanya said he gained nothing from the APC.
He accused the leader of the party in the state, of being selfish, insincere and deceitful, as he asked for forgiveness from his supporters for misleading them into the party.
“We formed the APC in Rivers State with good intentions but unfortunately people hijacked the whole party machinery and turned it into their personal business where they sit down in their comfort zone to make decisions for us. And it got to a point where we couldn’t take it anymore,” he said.
“Where we are coming from our leader there hasn’t been sincere to us, he has been very selfish and deceitful,” he added.
Ikanya stated that even when the party was in power in the state, he was unable to secure jobs for his children who made 1st class overseas when they got back.
“…they came back while I was still the state Chairman of the APC but I couldn’t secure a job for them while we were in Government in the state. And up till today they’re still unemployed. So, what did I gain by joining the APC?”
He, furthermore, said Gov. Wike warned him against joining the APC, but he failed to listen, adding that he knows better now.
