A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, and former NIMASA DG, Dakuku Peterside has said that for the promotion of unity, the Ikwerres should allow other ethnic groups produce the next governor of Rivers State in 2023.
Peterside, in an interview at the weekend said it is time for other ethnic groups in the state to be given a chance.
He said though the Ikwerre ethnic group has every right to contest, others should be allowed to produce the next governor, since they have produced the former and present governor.
The former NIMASA DG, explained that though competence should be the main principle in producing a leader, a method that allows for rotation of power should be created.
He furthermore, called on Rivers people to support the All Progressives Congress to takeover power in the state in 2023.
