Caretaker Committee Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Chijioke Ihunwo has cautioned youths of the state against fighting for those he described as “Abuja based politicians” stating that their children are overseas leaving them here to suffer.
Ihunwo said this when he appeared as a guest on NigrInfo.
He said, “As the Caretaker Chairman of Obio-Akpor local government area of Rivers State, I said that the future of Rivers State is now in our hands, that the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara has brought the future to the youths of Rivers State.
“I stated this while granting an interview on Nigeria Info 92.3 Port Harcourt. I noted that the youths of Rivers State are no longer the leaders of tomorrow but leaders of today. I emphasized that under the last administration there was no future for the youths, but under the current administration the future is now in our hands.
I called on Rivers youths to know that the Abuja based politicians they are fighting for that their children are in UK and Abuja, leaving them here to suffer for their children to benefit.
And I said the police disrupted the health programme carried out by Rivers State Government in Oro-igwe to serve the interest of one man, and that man is Martin Amaewhule the former Speaker of Rivers State House of Assembly.
I said the coming local government election will hold but the sincerity of the police is my concern.
I called for vigilance on the part of Rivers people and the Ijaw nation should rise up and protect their brother for we the Ikwerre people are giving him one hundred percent support, and he will be Governor for eight years.
