Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, has taken a swipe at the former Director General of NIMASA, Dakuku Peterside, stating that it is shameful he could not attract any meaningful project to Rivers people when he was in office.
Wike in a statement yesterday challenged Peterside to name a single project he attracted to the state when he was DG of NIMASA.
He explained that Dakuku could do nothing when the Cabotage headquarters was taken from Port Harcourt to Lagos.
The governor, noted that the former NIMASA, DG is challenging him for building a house in his village, as he asked if he should have built it in his village.
“That Opobo boy is challenging me an Ikwerre son, that I built a house in my village. Should I build it in his village?” he asked.
“You were DG NIMASA when they took away the Cabotage office of NIMASA from Port Harcourt to Lagos and did nothing. An Ikwerre son has given Opobo people road to drive home for the first time,” he said.
He further stated that he will happily drive to Opobo on Saturday, adding that his administration will continue to better the lives of Rivers people.
