A teenager, Joy Ogah, on Tuesday, symbolically assumed the seat of Vice President Kashim Shettima for a day, using the rare opportunity to champion the rights and education of girls across Nigeria.
Ogah’s symbolic takeover was part of an initiative aimed at promoting girl-child empowerment and leadership inclusion. During her brief tenure, she emphasized the need for increased investment in girls’ education and called for policies that ensure equal opportunities for young women to thrive.
She also expressed hope that more Nigerian girls would be inspired to pursue leadership roles and contribute meaningfully to national development.
The event underscored the federal government’s ongoing efforts to encourage youth participation in governance and advance gender equality in the country.
