Chairman of the Rivers State Civil Society Organization, RIVCSO, Enefaa Georgewill says the state government has failed to utilize the peace process brokered by the Commissioner of Police, Eboka Friday as regards payment of salaries of demonstration teachers.
Enefaa, who made this known in a statement today, said demonstration teachers will resume protest in January.
“Demonstration Teachers In Rivers State Resumes Protest In January, As Rivers State Government Fails Utilize Peace Process Brokered By D Commissioner Of Police,” he said.
Primary and secondary school teachers from Rivers State tertiary institutions, is currently having a running battle with the state government over non-payment of their five-year salary arrears.
The teachers are drawn from the Rivers State University International Demonstration Secondary School, Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Ignatius Ajuru University of Education Staff Primary and Secondary School, Ndele, and the Ken Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic Staff Primary and Secondary School, Bori.
