The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has restored bulk electricity supply to Bayelsa State and parts of Rivers State following the completion of repairs on the vandalised 132kV Owerri–Ahoada transmission line.
The company’s General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, confirmed in a statement issued in Abuja that the transmission line was reconnected to the national grid at about 6 p.m. on April 11.
The restoration comes after TCN reconstructed the line, which had suffered a major outage due to the collapse of four transmission towers as a result of vandalism.
With the reconnection, the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHEDC) has resumed power supply to affected areas in Bayelsa and parts of Rivers.
