A suspected Rivers Taskforce official yesterday reportedly punched a tricycle operator to death over N200 ticket levy.
The incident occurred at the Ogbogoro axis of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Sources say the taskforce official stopped the tricycle rider and demanded N200 from him but, he insisted that he had no money on him.
It led to an argument and in the process one of the officials punched the tricycle operator who slumped and was immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital where he passed on.
It was gathered that the incident led to a protest by tricycle operators in the area.
