A human rights group known as Lawyers Watch for Justice Initiative International has called on the Rivers State Police Command to ensure the safety of Lucky, the driver of the vehicle, the alleged rape victim boarded when she was arrested by the Police.
Gbenga Oladakpo, Spokesperson of the group in a chat with Journalists said the safety of the driver is paramount and that it is important he stays alive to testify in court.
He said being a vital witness, it is necessary that the driver is given maximum security to prevent any form of harm coming to him.
Furthermore, he called on the Police to properly investigate the alleged rape case against its officer and ensure justice is served.
