The People’s Democratic Party has reacted to the suspension of Channels Television by the National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, for interviewing the Spokesperson of the Indigenous People of Biafra, on Sunday.
National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan in an official statement on Tuesday, described the suspension as “draconian.”
He said such hasty decision, without the benefit of caution, could be counter-productive and heighten the already tensed situation in the nation.
“Our party is worried that such disposition could be counter-productive and heighten the already tensed situation in our nation at this critical time,” he said.
Ologbondiyan, urged the commission to review its decision on the media house and also put in place, friendly measures to encourage media houses in credible information dissemination.
