The suspended Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martin Amaewhule, on Saturday described the local government elections in the state as free, fair, and credible.
Amaewhule, who spoke to journalists after casting his vote at Unit 15, Ward 1, in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, commended officials of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) for what he called a seamless exercise conducted without violence.
He also lauded voters in his ward for what he described as a massive turnout, noting that residents demonstrated their awareness of the importance of the polls.
