The embattled and suspended Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu has been released from police custody after 10 days of incarceration.
According to reports, his lawyer had written to the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu few days ago, demanding for bail for his client but it is uncertain if his release was linked or had anything to do with the said letter.
Before his release, the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu had earlier Today, revealed that Magu was been held by the panel investigating him and not the police.
Magu is being investigated for allegedly diverting recovered loot and the purchase of properties in Dubai, following a petition by Abubakar Malami, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation and the Department of State Service (DSS).
