A young man identified as Frank has been beaten to a pulp after he was caught vandalizing armoured cables from a transformer at the Egbelu axis of Eliozu in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Popular Rivers journalist, Anita Ogona made this known in a statement and posted clips of the incident on Facebook.
She said Frank was caught by residents of the area while other members of the gang escaped in a Lexus Jeep.
She also said residents confirmed that the transformer was the 6th to be vandalized in the area, and that the community has been thrown into darkness.
Her post reads,
Our people are gradually losing Faith in Police.and resorting to Jungle Justice.
This cable thief identified himself as Frank ran out of luck but his gang excaped in a Lexus Jeep after vandalizing armored cables to a transformer at Egbelu Eliozu Community.
Some persons who identified him says this the 6th transformer to be vandalized throwing the whole community into darkness.
