A suspected notorious armed robber identified as Promise, an Ogoni native, was arrested in the early hours of Thursday by the Okuru Ama community surveillance team in the Trans Amadi area of Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The arrest, which occurred around 3:00 AM, followed actionable intelligence received by the surveillance team. Acting on the tip-off, operatives from the Golf Estate security unit, led by Commander TK, swiftly moved in and apprehended the suspect.
Promise, who is believed to have been responsible for a series of armed robberies across parts of Port Harcourt, was taken to the Okuru Ama main gate by the security team, headed by Chief Security Officer F. Peters.
While residents have commended the swift action of the community’s surveillance group, the Chairman of the Okuru Ama Community Development Committee (CDC) has yet to release an official statement regarding the arrest.
