Chairman of the Rivers State Civil Society Organizations, Enefaa Georgewill has called on the state government to implement the new minimum wage to help cushion the effect of subsidy removal.
Georgewill at the weekend also called on the government to come up with a more robust program for those in the informal sector as they are greatly affected by the removal of subsidy.
This was after the government introduced its palliative buses to assist residents of the state.
He advised the government to consider giving out loans to farmers and small business owners in the state, adding that such initiative will help in improving the standard of living of those who do not have access to monthly salary.
