Andoni local government council has launched a transport scheme known as Andoni LGA Palliative Transport Services to help cushion the effect of subsidy removal. This comes days after the state government unveiled 17 palliative buses for residents of the state.
Chairman of Andonni LGA, Hon. Erastus Awortu during the unveiling of the scheme at the council headquarters on Thursday said the buses will run at a subsidized rate to help maintain them.
According to him, they came up with the initiative to assist residents of the council this difficult time.
He said the two 18-seater and 1 Sienna buses will convey people from Port Harcourt to the council headquarters, Bori – headquarters and Ngo – Bori.
Awortu promised to sustain the scheme and launch more buses.
Chairman of the PDP in Andonni who unveiled the buses commended the council chairman for the initiative.
