Analytics platform Statisense has released a new ranking of the most followed Nigerian politicians on X (formerly Twitter) as of June 2025, highlighting the social media reach of the country’s political figures.

The data shows that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar leads with 5.42 million followers, closely followed by Labour Party’s Peter Obi with 5.38 million. Former President Muhammadu Buhari occupies third place with 4.54 million followers, while former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and ex-lawmaker Dino Melaye complete the top five.

Also featured in the top 20 are political figures such as Shehu Sani, Bukola Saraki, Bola Tinubu, Goodluck Jonathan, and Nasir El-Rufai. The list underscores the growing role of digital platforms in shaping political narratives and public engagement in Nigeria.
