Popular activist, Deji Adeyanju says rapper, speed Darlington who has been reported missing for four days now is in Police custody.
Deji in a statement on X said Darlington was arrested in Lagos last week Friday by the Police and taken to Abuja, as he has been in detention since then.
According to him, he was arrested following a petition against him by Singer, Burna Boy, adding that efforts are on to release him.
He said, “We just spent the last 30mins with Speed Darlington and he narrated how he was arrested in Lagos Friday last week, moved around and eventually brought to Abuja and has been in detention since then. Petition against him was written by Burna Boy, we can confirm.”
We have just located Speed Darlington and we are working on getting him freed. The attack against freedom of expression in Nigeria must stop. You can’t be singing against oppressors and still be an oppressor.
Recall that Darlington had queried Burna Boy over his association with American music executive Sean Combs aka Diddy following his sex trafficking indictment.
