The All Progressives Congress in Rivers State says the number of polling unit advisers appointed by Governor, Nyesom Wike is a “confirmation of the rate of joblessness” in the state.
Publicity Secretary of the party, Darlington Nwauju in a statement said the act exposes the “visionless-ness of the past seven years”.
He called on the state government to convert the jobs to pensionable jobs for youths.
He described the current administration as a failure, adding that it has failed to meaningfully engage unemployed youths in the state.
“One question begging for answers for the knee-jerk politically-motivated decision is how the government will fund the bogus appointments? Why is the exercise not done with recourse to Section 196 sub 4 of the 1999 Constitution as amended which covers the appointment of Special advisers?” he said.
