Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC), has donated two sophisticated PCR, COVID-19 Test Machines to the Rivers State Government. This is to enable the government test and manage COVID-19 patients.
Governor Nyesom Wike, while receiving the medical equipments today, at the Government House Port Harcourt, commended the SPDC for the kind gesture.
The Governor made it known that this is the first time he will be commending SPDC on anything. He equally noted that he is unhappy with the NNPC for bringing in 22 of its staff into the state through the Port Harcourt International Airport, from Gombe without the approval of the state government.
Deputy Managing Director of SPDC, Mr Simon Roddy in his remarks commended Gov. Wike for his relentless efforts in making sure the state is free from the coronavirus pandemic.
Roddy who made it known that they had donated some medical equipments few days ago, stated that the machines are meant to enhance operations at the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital and the treatment centre at Eleme.
