The Rivers State Civil Society Organization, has called on the Rivers State Government to appoint a commissioner for environment to stop the soot in the state.
Chairman of the group, Enefaa Georgewill who made this known in a statement yesterday, said the environment commissioner is saddled with the responsibility of coordinating efforts of the state Government to end the menace.
The RIVCSO Boss, was reacting to an online video which showed Oyigbo local government chairman and some taskforce officials burning seized petroleum products.
He condemned the act and called on the government to device better means in handling seized products.
