Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has condemned the use of women in protests, calling it an embarrassment and a misguided attempt to pressure the government.
“There is no need to embarrass our women to be naked outside,” Wike said during a platinum jubilee thanksgiving event for Hon. Ken Chikere in Port Harcourt on Friday. He added that no amount of blackmail through organized protests—especially involving women—would bring lasting peace.
The minister emphasized that the path to reconciliation lies in humility and placing the state’s interest above personal grievances.
