A group known as Green Light Development Ambassadors Initiative, has accused Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, of being behind smear campaign against the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi and his wife Judith Amaechi.
Chairman of the group, Henry Odili disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.
He said the smear campaign is being sponsored by the Governor to tarnish the rising profile of the Transportation Minister, ahead of the 2023 election.
Odili said it was wicked and inhumane to accuse Judith Amaechi of looting over N48 Billion from the Niger Delta Development Commission, through her Empowerment Programme, ESI which has empowered youths and widows in the region.
He called on people of the Niger Delta region and Nigerians to ignore the accusation, as it is geared towards discrediting the Minister and his wife.
There have been reports circulating on social media that wife of the former Governor, Judith Amaechi, looted over N48 Billion from the NCDC, through her pet project ESI.
The scheme has since denied the allegation.
