LAGOS – Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has issued a public apology to the police after being declared wanted for allegedly assaulting government officials in Ogun State.
In a social media post before turning himself in, Portable expressed remorse, attributing his initial evasion to fear. Portable in a post before he turned himself in said,”Oba Anu, I’m going out today. God turn my battles to blessings, speak for me. I dey help people, God help me send my own helper to me. Ogun state government, I’m sorry, it’s fear that made me run. Thank God the police are our friends and family. God forgive me. I believe in you, every disappointment is a blessing,” he wrote.
The singer surrendered to the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yaba, where police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed his detention. Authorities have contacted the Ogun State Police Command for his transfer.
